Yuen Long station reborn
Acting New Territories North Regional Commander David Thomas opened the new-look Report Room at Yuen Long Police Station on June 19. He was joined by Yuen Long District Officer Tang Chi-leung, District Fight Crime Committee Chairman Cham Ka-hung and other officiating guests.
They toured the station's new facilities such as the Video Interview Room, Identification Parade Suite and Men's Changing Room. The new Report Room also featured a specially designed reception counter, touch screen information kiosk and interview rooms.
Mr Thomas told the gathering the revamp aimed to provide a warm, more accessible and user-friendly environment for both the public and staff using the station.
"This is one of the Force's most visible initiatives in our continuous efforts to improve our service to the community," Mr Thomas said, adding that support of frontline staff was equally important.
"Officers at every station have been given customer service training and the results of this are closely monitored to identify areas where further improvements can be made."
The busy Division handled about 39,000 incidents last year and the improvements would help improve efficiency in handling reports.
The station was the 22 completed under the Station Improvement Project involving 59 stations across Hong Kong.
