The Police and the Tuen Mun District Fight Crime Committee launched the 'Help People to Help Themselves' Fight Crime Scheme in June with the aim of getting the fight crime message across to the public and further raising the awareness of Tuen Mun residents through fight crime ambassadors.

Primary and secondary students were invited to participate in a competition to create fight crime posters and slogans which would also further raise their fight crime awareness. The winning poster and slogan were reproduced and distributed to local residents as part of the publicity drive.

In appreciation of the efforts and support of the fight crime ambassadors and competition winners, a presentation ceremony was held on September 16 at Tuen Mun Town Hall. Certificates were presented to fight crime ambassadors and prizes to competition winners.

Guests of honour officiating at the presentation ceremony included Tuen Mun District Fight Crime Committee Chairman Lau Yip-keung and Tuen Mun District Deputy Commander Chiu Kam-fai.
