As the Force continues to upgrade its image and further improves customer services, it was decided that the online image of the Force should also be improved to better reflect a more modern, customer-friendly Force.

With this in mind the Information Technology Branch e-Police team undertook revamping of OffBeat's site on the World Wide Web.

While there have not been many technical changes to the pages, the revised layout offers readers a more subtle, yet professional, image. Colour schemes make the pages easier to read, while the layout allows readers to navigate the site with speed and ease.

The new version also makes it easier and faster to download information as photographs are added as small attachments at the end of articles, whereas the pages previously provided large photographs within articles. This gives readers the opportunity of deciding for themselves if they want to enlarge photographs or not. This advancement should mean that readers will now download and read articles they would normally have abandoned during the long download process.

The newly revamped OffBeat web site reflects the current image of the Force and will ensure that the rest of the world is kept up to date with the advances we are making and the efforts our frontline officers.
