The 25th Police Mountain Marathon organised by the Police Adventure Club will be held next January 5-6.
This annual orienteering endurance race is open to all members of the Force including Auxiliary and civilian staff and other disciplined services.
Competing in pairs, participants will join the Open, Veteran's, Women's or Invitation Categories. They will be required to carry limited gear to complete a designated route of about 50 kilometres in the rural area in the shortest time possible over two days. They will also be required to bring their own camping equipment and cooking utensils.
An easier, shorter route of about 40 kilometres is available in the Experienced Category, in which Force members may form a two-member team with their families or friends to experience camping and long-distance hiking. These participants should be above 16 years old, are first-time participants, or have not secured one of the first three places in this event over the past three years.
Application forms, obtainable from Training and Staff Relations Officers, should be returned to Sergeant Tso Wai-tak of Sau Mau Ping Division's Transport Office, with a fee of $150 per team (the crossed cheque should be addressed to "Police Adventure Club"), on or before December 15.
For enquiries, please contact SGT Tso on 2797-4252.
