Some 300 Police Tactical Unit (PTU) staff and officers under training raised almost $36,000 for the Police Children's Education Trust (PCET) during a charity sports day held on October 26.

PTU staff competed against officers from Zulu and Alpha Companies in five events. These included a round-camp run, a hard 'Saxon Pull' and the most exciting of all - the 'Company Commanders' Birthday Sedan Chair Race' - modelled on the other well known charity race held annually around the Peak.

Following fierce competition, PTU HQ emerged the winner. Moreover, the overall winner was the Education Trust which benefited to the tune of $35,888 - a commendable effort by all concerned. Many thanks to you all.

Assistant Commissioner Cheung Chi-shum accepted the cheque from PTU Commandant Ng Man-kim on behalf of the Personnel Services Branch.
