  • A letter was sent to a Chinese-language newspaper in response to an article appeared on November 3 stating that there was a recent upsurge of bank robberies. The letter pointed out that two of the five bank robberies occurred in October had been detected following the arrest of two men.

  • A letter was sent to a Chinese-language newspaper on November 5 pointing out that following the completion of a pilot scheme of equipping frontline officers in Tsuen Wan, Mong Kok and Wan Chai with mobile phones, Police were satisfied with the results and plans for expansion would depend on the assessment of the trial. It was stressed that the scheme would not be affected by budget issues.

  • A letter was sent to a Chinese-language newspaper refuting its allegation on November 14 that an increase in crime in Tseung Kwan O was the reason for introducing bicycle patrol again.

  • Two letters were sent to clarify reports published in a Chinese-language newspaper and an English newspaper on November 17 about the way Police investigated nuisance complaints against the Falun Gong.

  • A letter was sent to a Chinese-language newspaper which misquoted the reported corruption figures in 1976 and 2000 in its November 17 report about corruption involving Police officers.

  • A letter was sent to three Chinese-language newspapers on November 19 to refute their reports about an assault and obstruction of Police officers in Aberdeen.

  • It was stressed in a letter sent to a Chinese-language newspaper on November 21 that the Force management was always seriously concerned about Police indebtedness.

  • A press release was issued in response to press enquiries about the Police presence at a ceremony held in Admiralty on November 20, noting that it was normal practice for Police to be present when there was a large gathering of people.

  • A letter was sent to a Chinese-language newspaper to refute an article written by a legislator published on November 23 which accused Police for abusing the law in handling peaceful expression of views regarding the protests during the Fortune Global Forum and outside the Liaison Office.
