Focus for staff suggestions

The Service Quality Wing (SQW) is inviting specific ideas under the Staff Suggestions Scheme. The SQW will continue to welcome improvement ideas in any areas but will also set a theme every three months to seek suggestions about a specific topic. The first thematic topic is "Improvements to Notice Boards".

Officers can check whether their ideas are original or the results of the evaluation of a proposal by going to POINT "Service Quality Wing/Performance Review Branch".

The SQW also maintains a Work Improvement Team database on POINT, which has recently been upgraded with an enhanced search engine and expanded to include a Resources Infostation.

As there is a lengthy evaluation process for every suggestion submitted to ensure that each of them will be comprehensively reviewed, officers are urged to emphasis quality rather than quantity and to check the databases of the Staff Suggestions Scheme and the Work Improvement Team to ensure that they are not submitting old ideas. This will help save the time of the SQW in administering the scheme and various policy wings in processing the suggestions.

Over 2,000 improvement ideas have been processed under the Staff Suggestions Scheme since 1994 and more than 220 staff have been awarded for their contributions to the scheme.
