The Dowman Road Race 2002 (an authorised absence event) will be held on February 2 in Sai Kung.
The 12-kilometre race will start beyond the barrier in Pak Tam Chung at 10 am. All competitors are required to register at the starting point before 9.30 am.
There will be eight categories:
(a) Men's Open (any age);
(b) Men's Senior (born on or before December 31, 1966);
(c) Men's Veterans I (born on or before December 31, 1961);
(d) Men's Veterans II (born on or before December 31, 1956);
(e) Men's Veterans III (born on or before December 31, 1951);
(f) Women's Open (any age)
(g) Women's Senior (born on or before December 31, 1965).
(h) Former regular and auxiliary police officers - Open
Deputy Commissioner Operations Lau Yuk-kuen will officiate at the prize presentation ceremony. A new category for former officers is added this year with a trophy donated by former Police Athletics Club Chairman Malcolm Philips.
An entry fee of $35 per person will be charged. Payment must be made by depositing a cheque payable to 'Hong Kong Police Sports Council - Police Athletics Club' at any HSBC branches (Please check PEN for the account number). Completed application form with a copied bank receipt should be sent to WCIP CW 3 P&D Shirley Chan Mi-ching by fax (2861-1102). Verbal or e-mail applications will not be accepted.
The deadline for entry is January 19. Late entries will be subject to a surcharge of $35 per person.
