Crime HQ Superintendent Peter Barnes and his staff responsible for human resources and management have been organising briefing sessions for various promotion exercises between last December and this month.

Assistant Commissioner Crime Peter Yam and Crime HQ Chief Superintendent Thomas Chan were invited to share their experiences at the briefings. They advised candidates on general etiquette to be adopted and useful reference materials that could be used in preparation for promotion exercises.

At the briefing session for CIP to SP promotion exercise, a total of 33 Crime Wing Chief Inspectors attended.

"The briefings have been well received by the candidates, and a session for Senior Inspectors was held earlier this month," Mr Barnes said, adding that the scheme will be extended for Junior Police Officers attached to the Crime Wing.
