Corporate Games champion

Athletes and sportsmen from the Force's various sporting clubs have jointly won the overall championship of Corporate Games 2001 which was held between July 2001 and last month (January).

It was a repeat performance by the Force which took the same championship in the 2000 games.

The Corporate Games is an annual sporting event organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. Participants include Government departments, private sector organisations and public corporations.

The Force took part in 11 competitions, which included canoeing, indoor rowing, distance running, track and field, badminton, basketball, swimming, table-tennis, tennis, ten pin bowling and volleyball.

They took the championship crowns in canoeing, indoor rowing, badminton (Group A), table-tennis and volleyball events. They also secured the second, third and fourth places in swimming, distance running and ten pin bowling competitions respectively.

At a prize presentation ceremony held earlier at the Lai Chi Kok Park Indoor Games Hall, Superintendent (Catering, Sports and Recreation) Lee Ying-min represented the Force to receive the championship trophy. Representatives from various Police clubs also attended.
