Police raise record amount
of money for Oxfam

The Force has been commended by the Trailwalker Advisory Committee for raising a record amount money for Oxfam Hong Kong and for introducing various measures to ensure that Trailwalker 2001 held last November was successfully completed.

Twelve Police teams which raised a total of $180,000, the highest amount raised by a Government department, were presented with a Fundraising Award.

Senior Inspector Chan Chung-yu of PTU HQ, who was present at the presentation ceremony held last month, was responsible for co-ordinating crowd management, traffic control and logistical support for the event.

Trailwalker, an annual fundraising event organised by Oxfam Hong Kong, last year raised a total of $17 million to help disadvantaged people in Hong Kong, the Mainland, other parts of Asia and Africa.
