Ten Police officers have been invited to participate in a cultural tour of the Mainland.

The Police team, together with 25 other groups from various organisations, which were also invited to make the visit, were presented with banners at a ceremony earlier to commemorate the Fifth Anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR.

Organised by the Chinese History and Culture Educational Foundation for Youth, the Police tour, which will take place next month, will be led by Chief Superintendent Albert Cheuk Chun-yin.

The ceremony at the Hong Kong Coliseum was officiated by a number of senior Mainland officials and HKSAR officials, including the Secretary for Justice, Miss Elsie Leung, Commissioner of Police, Mr Tsang Yam-pui and heads of Customs and Excise, Immigration, Correctional Services and Fire Services Departments.

The Foundation, established in 1998, organises visits to the Mainland each year for young people to increase their knowledge of the motherland.

This year's tour destinations of the 26 invited groups are expected to include Beijing, Yanan, Nanjing, Shandong and Ningxia.
