Some 30 officers from various units of Western Police District received awards for solving a series of burglaries and other crimes, including blackmail and trafficking in dangerous drugs.

At a presentation ceremony held earlier, District Commander, Mr David Madoc-Jones, said that it was heart warming to see so many community members being present to thank his officers for carrying out their duties with distinction.

"As many of you are aware, I strongly believe and frequently state that the Hong Kong Police Force can only be successful if we have the support and trust of the community behind us," Mr Madoc-Jones said.
