Commissioner Tsang Yam-pui highly commended officers of the Organised Crime and Triad Bureau for their perseverance and professionalism against a dangerous crime syndicate. After a prolonged investigation, raids had been carried out at 26 different locations throughout the territory and resulted in the arrest of five suspects and the seizure of 10 modified pistols.

Mr Tsang observed that crime syndicates pose a very serious threat to our community and the officers' outstanding performance had significantly reduced that threat. He expressed the hope that their recent success would inspire them to even greater efforts in the future.

Earlier, during a visit to the Kowloon West Regional Headquarters, Mr Tsang also expressed his appreciation to the officers who assisted in neutralising a cross-boundary criminal syndicate in Tuen Mun. On July 19, five suspects were arrested on Tuen Mun Promenade during a joint operation mounted by officers from Kowloon West Regional Crime Headquarters and Special Duties Unit. The officers seized a pistol, a shotgun and 17 bullets during the operation.

Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Operations, Mr Lau Yuk-kuen, Mr Tsang met the officers involved and highly commended their great achievement.

Mr Tsang also made a visit to Kwun Tong Police Station to give encouragement to all frontline officers who helped in handling a recent labour dispute in Yau Tong.

Mr Tsang said that he fully understood the difficulties faced by the officers during the incident. He also expressed his views on how best to maintain a harmonious relationship with the public while handling similar incidents in the future.
