Striving for excellence |

The Force is committed to continuously improving its capability and providing the community with a professional, modern and caring Police Force.
This assurance was given by Assistant Commissioner (Training), Mr David Thomas, when officiating at the opening of the new New Territories Regional Continuation Training Centre in Tsuen Wan last month.
More than 120 officers and guests attended the opening ceremony for the centre, which has been relocated to Tsuen Wan, because facilities at the former site in Tai Wai did not meet present-day needs.
The new training centre, on the tenth floor of Tsuen Wan Police Station, is equipped with advanced teaching aids, custom-made furniture and spacious training areas.
"We believe these first class facilities, coupled with high quality training will assist the Force in striving towards making the Three-year Strategic Action Plan a success," Mr Thomas said.
"The success of this relocation is attributable to the great efforts of the staff of Planning and Development Branch, Tsuen Wan District Commander, Mr Austin Kerrigan, and his staff, as well as New Terrtiories South Regional Commander, Mr Mike Dowie, and New Territories North Regional Commander, Mr Chung Hiu-pang, who kindly offered a wide selection of locations."
The Regional Continuation Training Scheme is an integral part of a Police Constable's development training after passing out from Police Training School.
The scheme consists of six training modules aimed at providing supplementary and enhancement training on professional ability, knowledge and attitude.
A Constable after finishing his basic training at PTS will be able to complete the continuation training at the centre in 18 months by attending each of the three-day module sessions at three-monthly intervals. |
