IPCC visits PTS

Vice Chairman of the Independent Police Complaints Council (IPCC), Mr Yeung Yiu-chung and five members, Miss Sylvia Yau Siu-fee, Mr Chan Bing-woon, Mr Kwan Chi-ping, Dr Charles Koo Ming-yan and Mr Justin Yue Kwok-hung, visited the Police Training School and met a cross section of training staff and trainees late last month. Afterwards they attended a lunch discussion hosted by the Director of Management Services, Mr Fung Siu-yuen.

During the visit, they were given an overview of training, a series of demonstrations conducted in the Tactical Training Complex and two practical exercises by recruits. The visit was organised by the Complaints and Internal Investigations Branch, as part of a programme to further enhance Council members' understanding of police duties and the practical problems faced by frontline officers in carrying out their duties.

Accompanying the visitors were Police Training School Commandant, Mr Hung Hak-wai, and Complaints and Internal Investigations Branch Chief Superintendent, Mr Lee Ka-chiu.
