During the luncheon, Mr Mak thanked his guests on behalf of all officers in Kowloon East Region for their consistent help in maintaining law and order in the community, and for their valued assistance in various fight crime campaigns. "I would like to thank you all for the trust and support you have given to the Police," he said.

Wong Tai Sin District had won the Gold Award in the 'Help People to Help Themselves Fight Crime Competition' for the second consecutive year as a result of their cooperation.

Last year, in co-operation with the Fight Crime Committee, the Council recruited 480 elderly people as 'Elderly Fight-Crime Ambassadors' who then successfully passed on the 'deception prevention message' to all the elderly people in the District, Mr Mak recalled.

In the coming months, there will be a fight crime carnival, a street 'deception prevention' campaign and Para Para party.

Mr Mak, in conclusion, urged everyone to continue working closely together to combat crime.
