Who exactly made that 'hit' wasn't immediately apparent but, with the help of colleagues from the Information Technology Branch, the visitor was eventually identified. She was Ms Chiu Sau-mee - working her last day as Training & Staff Relations Officer, New Territories South.

To celebrate reaching this most significant of 'virtual milestones' in the Learning Portal's life, Assistant Commissioner (Training), Mr David Thomas, presented Ms Chiu with a certificate to mark the occasion.

Ms Chiu said that she had visited the Learning Portal to check out the latest information on the Training Day Projects Resource Centre.

She was, she explained, a frequent user of the Learning Portal and was convinced that the discussion forum, known as Happy Land, had great potential for Training & Staff Relations Officers to exchange experience and views. She said that she had often used the Learning Portal to check on the many training opportunities for serving officers and had encouraged her colleagues to do the same.

Of the colourful presentation certificate, Ms Chiu said that it would be a delightful memento of the last of many enjoyable days serving as Training & Staff Relations Officer at New Territories South.

Mr Thomas took the opportunity to introduce OffBeat to some of the features of the Learning Portal. In particular he highlighted the PowerPoint Graphics and Picture Library and invited all officers to browse the site. He was, he said, looking forward to welcoming the 200,000th visitor.
