A fortnight bicycle safety campaign, jointly launched by Lantau District and New Territories South Region Road Safety Unit, took place in various venues in Tung Chung and Mui Wo.

Road Safety messages were conveyed to the public through the distribution of leaflets and souvenirs, a 'Q&A' session, an artistic cycling show and a quiz competition.

New Police jeeps and BMW motorcycles were also on display at the venues.

Meanwhile, another cycling safety campaign was held in Sha Tin during which a carnival featuring various game-stalls and a cycling show was held near Shing Mun River. During the following week, Police officers took vigorous educational and enforcement action on major cycling paths.
