How time flies!!! This is the last of 12 articles in the Family Life Education Series. Among the articles on different family life topics, the first three discussed the implications of 'living with a disciplinary person', the way he/she acted as a parent and a spouse in relating to others, and how it differed from way of other members of the general public. The next five articles covered the "growing pains" of children and ways of handling any problems that arose while the three most recent ones explored the concept of enriching our retirement.

Most of the articles were written by Professor WONG Chung-kwong, a psychiatrist and educator, who is popular with the local media and has been 'honourable speaker' at a number of Family Life Education programmes. While all the articles are accessible on our website, we are studying the possibility of a printed booklet for those who have no direct assess to a computer, and for achieving a wider circulation for them.

Most of the many enquiries we have received over the last year related to child-rearing issues and this is further evidence, if any was needed, that most parents want to 'do the best' by and for their children. To help them to do so, we are going to launch another series of monthly articles focusing on parenting skills. Once again, Professor Wong Chung-kwong has generously agreed to help us produce the series. But, remember! Your support is essential to us.

Lastly, we would like to share with you a poem, written by Dorothy Law Nolte, and titled "Children Learn What They Live".

If a child lives with criticism, he learns to condemn. If a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight. If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be shy. If a child lives with shame, he learns to be guilty. If a child lives with tolerance, he learns to be patient. If a child lives with encouragement, he learns confidence. If a child lives with praise, he learns to appreciate. If a child lives with fairness, he learns justice. If a child lives with security, he learns to have faith. If a child lives with approval, he learns to like himself. If a child lives with acceptance and friendship, he learns to find LOVE in the world
