A re-edited version of last year's highly successful Police recruitment campaign will use the slogan 'Honesty, Courage and Lifetime Commitment - Determined to Ensure Hong Kong Remains the Safest City' in a new and comprehensive publicity package.

The package includes video productions for broadcasting to homes, shoppers and bus passengers. These will be reinforced by new radio commercials, posters, and MTR and KCR advertising.

Police Public Relations Branch Senior Superintendent Mr Alan Fan Sik-ming said that he was confident that the new campaign would attract even more high-calibre applicants than last year when some 2,400 qualified aspiring applicants represented a 74 per cent increase over the previous year.

"In addition to the recruitment success, the campaign has also been invaluable in helping the public know more about the Force; especially the professional and caring aspects of our work.

"Building on the success of the previous project, we have added a new element to it by highlighting police officers' determination in protecting lives, maintaining law and order as well as in ensuring that Hong Kong remains the safest city," said Mr Fan.

The TV commercial produced for last year's campaign titled "Professional" won the Gold WorldMedal at New York Festivals in February 2002.
