Kwun Tong: Over 200 young people attended the "Help People to Help Themselves" Ambassadors Appointment Ceremony and Training Day organised by Kwun Tong District Police Community Relations Office and held at the Christian Family Service Centre in Kwun Tong. The District has also organised a series of fight crime activities, including visits to centres for the elderly, to alert them to the risks posed by swindlers and lax domestic security.

Wong Tai Sin: Wong Tai Sin District and the Wong Tai Sin District Fight Crime Committee jointly organised a fight youth crime carnival, one of the highlights of this year's "Help People to Help Themselves" campaign. At the opening address, Deputy District Commander Mrs Maria Kong, said that more than 500 Youth Fight Crime Ambassadors had been recruited to help disseminate the fight crime messages.

Tai Po: In early August, Tai Po District organised a fight youth crime publicity event appealing to youngsters to stay away from crime. Officers from the District, joined by members of the Tai Po District Fight Crime Committee and Tai Po District Junior Police Call, distributed fight crime handouts to members of the public at shopping malls throughout the district. Tuen Mun: Officers of Tuen Mun District's Police Community Relations Office and the Tuen Mun District Fight Crime Committee jointly organised a fight youth crime carnival on August 10 to educate the young people not to commit shop theft.

Cheung Chau: Earlier, Marine Regional Crime Unit, Marine Harbour District Police Community Relations Office and Cheung Chau Division jointly organised a fight youth crime seminar. The seminar, held in Cheung Chau Police Station, had invited local community leaders, principals, teachers and parents to attend. The participants made use of the chance to study the possible ways to help young people make good use of their long summer vacation and prevent them from committing crimes.

Tsing Yi: On Tsing Yi, a "Joint Anti-Youth Crime Summer Campaign" was organised by Tsing Yi Division, YMCA and Hong Kong Playground Association on August 3. The campaign, lasting for six days, was aimed at persuading young people to stay away from crime.

Lantau: Construction site security has been the subject of regular meetings between Lantau District and contractors working on the Disneyland theme park and the Penny's Bay railway line.
