Letter from Peter Turner:
New York Marathon:
The Force was with me!

"The New York Marathon took place as planned on Sunday November 3. There was a good turn out by the Turner family - My daughter Elizabeth and her boyfriend Andy completed the run in 5 hours 20 minutes. Son Philip did it in 3 hours and 54 minutes, which was pretty good for a first-time runner, I managed the course in 4 hours and 39 minutes - an amazing feat for someone as decrepit-looking as me!

"I would like to express my deep gratitude to members of the Force who responded to my OffBeat request for sponsorship money. Thanks to you, my sponsors, I was able to contribute $27,000 to the total $100,000 plus that the Turners raised for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Thank you."

Information Technology Specialist Mr Peter Turner, who has been with ITB for seven years, made an appeal for sponsorship in Offbeat Issue No. 731. His 29-year-old daughter, Elizabeth, is suffering from the, as yet incurable, disease Multiple Sclerosis.
