The Labour Department and the Police Training School (PTS) co-organised Youth Pre-employment Training (YPT) Programme is now in its fourth year.

The programme, which lasts for 10 days, consists of four modules that provide a pre-employment integrated training programme to enhance employment opportunities for school-leavers aged from 15 to 19.

This year, 77 school-leavers, who had successfully completed their training in leadership, self-confidence, discipline, physical ability and team spirit, were awarded certificates at a Graduation Ceremony held at PTS.

The guests-of-honour included the Commissioner of Labour, Ms Pamela Tan; PTS Commandant, Chief Superintendent Mr Ng Man-kim; Executive Council Member Mr Cheng Yiu-tong, and the Aviation Security Company Limited (AVSECO) General Manager, Mr Ng Wai-kit. Instructors, graduate students, parents and media representatives packed the venue.

After expressing her gratitude for the support given to the YPT Programme by the Force and the PTS in particular, Ms Tan presented the PTS Commandant, Mr Ng Man-kim, with a souvenir. Following that, AVSECO's Mr Ng adressed the graduates telling them that he was sure there was a bright future ahead of them. He reminded them that, over the last three years, his company alone had employed some 200 YPT Programme graduates - among which had been two who were awarded 'Tailor-made Training/Employment Packages' under the scheme.

In conclusion, Mr Cheng Yiu-tong and PTS Commandant Mr Ng Man-kim then presented the graduation certificates and invited three graduates to share their feelings about the course.
