Yau Tsim District has seen a remarkable drop in crime over the last two years, which has been attributed to the exemplary leadership of outgoing District Commander, Chief Superintendent Mr John Bicknell. In a letter of commendation addressed to Commissioner Mr Tsang Yam-pui, Yau Tsim Mong District Council Chairman Mr Chow Chun-fai and Yau Tsim Mong District Fight Crime Committee Chairman Mr Ip Kwok-chung expressed gratitude and respect for Mr Bicknell's dedication and capability. Sha Tin District has seen a significant 15.4 per cent drop in crime and a 50 per cent 'detection rate' in the year 2002. Sha Tin District Fight Crime Committee Chairman, Mr Pang Cheung-wai, wrote to Commissioner Mr Tsang Yam-pui, highly commending an excellent achievement by all officers of that formation.
