During the visit the members were introduced to: the ingress control and security check system; crowd and traffic management operations; vehicle search operation, and the Event Joint Control Room and Police Duty Room. They then toured the Stadium to observe the mood and behaviour of the spectators before going to the Police Command Post at the South Stand for a final briefing.

The visitors were accompanied throughout the visit by the Director of Management Services, Mr Yam Tat-wing; Hong Kong Island Regional Commander, Mrs Bonnie Smith; Wan Chai District Commander, Mr Lee Siu-kin, and Complaints & Internal Investigations Branch Chief Superintendent, Ms Chang Mo-see.

The visit was organised by the Complaints & Internal Investigations Branch as part of a programme to enhance IPCC members' understanding of frontline police duties.
