The Force members were responding to Commissioner Mr Tsang Yam-pui's Force-wide appeal to raise funds for the children of deceased Serious Acute Respiratory Syndrome patients. The sum raised is an eloquent a reflection of how much the Force cares for members of the community.

Mr Tsang, together with representatives from the four disciplined staff associations -Superintendents' Association Chairman Mr Tse Shu-chun, Local Inspectors' Association Secretary Mr Cheung Kong-sang, Overseas Inspectors' Association Executive Committee Member Mr Neil Dunn, and Junior Police Officers' Association Chairman Mr Lau Kam-wah -presented the cheque to the co-ordinators of the fund at a presentation ceremony held at Police Headquarters on May 28.
