The Seminar on Cross-boundary Issues held on April 30 was one of a series of Management Development Seminars organised by the Training Wing for superintendents above. It was attended by 70 officers of superintendent rank or above and opened by the Deputy Commissioner (Management) Mr Fung Siu-yuen.

Mr Fung pointed out that closer cross-boundary co-operation is one of the major policy objectives of the Government and the Force must look ahead and prepare for impending changes.

Two prominent professors from the Department of Politics & Public Administration shared with the participants their research findings and views on this important issue. Professor Peter Cheung gave a lecture on 'Co-operation between Hong Kong and South China' and Professor Sonny Lo lectured on 'Cross-boundary Crime'. The participants gained much insight and broadened their perspectives on both issues. During the question sessions, the discussion focussed on more in-depth analysis and the sharing of views.

The PowerPoint presentation and a video recording of the two lectures are available on the learning portal.
