The Desktop Equipment Check Operation

In order to maintain the high efficiency and acceptable security level of Force information systems, Information Systems Wing (ISW) will embark on a Desktop Equipment Check Operation (DECO) between August 2003 and February 2004. This will involve 100 per cent computer hardware and software checks on all Force computer equipment and peripherals including personal computer, monitor, printer, Go-Go pen, scanner, zip drive, etc, located in all police-controlled premises throughout the territory.

In view of the volume and scope of the checks, engineers from Automated Systems Limited will assist the Force in conducting the operation during normal working hours from Monday to Friday.

Two weeks prior to the checks, concerned users would be informed of the detailed procedures and necessary preparation required through PEN messages from ISW.
