Six Independent Police Complaints Council (IPCC) members, Mrs Grace Tam Cheung Kit-ying, Mr Chan Bing-woon, Mr Alan Leong Kah-kit, Mr Edgar Kwan Chi-ping, Dr Shum Ping-shiu and Mr Daniel Cham Ka-hung, visited the Marine Region in late October. During the visit, the visitors toured the Marine Police Regional Command and Control Centre and the police launch PL 60. They also saw demonstrations by the Small Boat Unit on the tactics of intercepting Fast Moving Target (Dai Fai) and attended a presentation on the challenges of "offshore" policing. Accompanying the visitors were Director of Management Services Mr Yam Tat-wing, Assistant Commissioner (Service Quality) Mr Wong Doon-yee, and Complaints & Internal Investigations Branch Chief Superintendent Ms Debbie Chang. The visit was organised by the Complaints & Internal Investigations Branch as part of a programme to further enhance IPCC members' understanding of frontline policing.
