Force brings warmth to the needy

The Tango Company, the Police Handicraft Club and the Police Civilian Staff Club have recently knitted 1,823 pieces of scarves for the needy, and clinched the second place in the Social Welfare Department's Scarf-knitting Programme in Campaign Evergreen 2003.

The scarves were delivered to 10 elderly homes and rehabilitation centres by volunteers recruited by the Police Voluntary Services Corps (PVSC) on December 20, the coldest day in 2003. Meanwhile, the PVSC had also made deliveries to other centres, bringing the total number of scarves, hats and gloves presented to the needy last December to over 2,500.
