The Force clinched the overall championship in the first Disciplined Services Sports Day held at the Police Sports and Recreation Club on November 30.

Fire Services Department and Customs and Excise Department were the first and second runners-up respectively.

Apart from overall championship, the Force's sportsmen had also won the championship of six events out of a total of nine, namely basketball, football, indoor rowing, table tennis, tug-of-war and Senior Officers 12-yard penalty kick.

Over 1,000 participants, including Department heads, senior officers, sportsmen and family members of the seven disciplined departments, had joined the sports meet and enjoyed a fun-filled day.

As each of the disciplined departments had fielded their best sportsmen, competition in the nine events, namely basketball, football, indoor rowing, swimming, tennis, table tennis, tenpin bowling, tug-of-war and Senior Officers 12-yard penalty kick, was intense and exciting. All the Heads and many senior officers of the departments were on hand to lend support to their sportsmen.

The Sports Day concluded amid players' cheering and the Auld Lang Syne played by the Police Band.
