How to print Worksheets in Excel (1) |
||
Starting from this issue, I will elaborate on the printing of worksheets in Excel. I hope that you will be able to print an elegant worksheet easily after reading this series.
Preparation work
First get back the workbook of "Overall Crime Statistics" you have downloaded before. The content of the "English"
worksheet is as follows:
It also consists of the following column chart, which we made last time:
The "Print Preview" option in the "File" menu will enable you to view in advance the content and layout of the worksheet you intend to print. However, you can also use the "Print
Preview" icon () on the toolbar, which has the same function of the "Print Preview" option.
Now let's try to use the "Print Preview" option to view the content and layout of the "English" worksheet.
1. Select the "Print Preview" option from the "File" menu.
2. The content of the "English" worksheet will appear. Besides, a series of function buttons will be available for use (see Figure 3).
The functions of these buttons are set out as follows:
* Next
If the content of the worksheet is shown in multiple pages, you can use this button to display the next page in the "Print
Preview" window.
* Previous
If the content of the worksheet is shown in multiple pages and the current page displayed in the "Print Preview" window is not the first page, you can use this button to display the previous page in the "Print Preview" window.
* Zoom
It can enlarge or shrink the content of the displayed
worksheet. Press this button once to zoom in the content and press it again to restore the content into normal view.
Another way to achieve the same effect is: when the cursor resembles a magnifying glass in the normal "Print Preview"
window, move it to the target position and left click the mouse to magnify the worksheet. After that the cursor will switch back to its normal form (i.e. an arrow). If you now left click the mouse again, the displayed worksheet will return to its normal view.
* Print
Press this button once to display the "Print" dialogue box for printing the current worksheet.
* Setup
Press this button once to display the "Page Setup" dialogue box for setting up the format of the worksheet to be printed.
* Margins
This button is used to adjust the margins of the worksheet in the "Print Preview" window, including the "Header", "Top", "Footer", "Bottom", "Right" and "Left".
* Close
Click on this button to exit the "Print Preview" window and return to the normal Excel window.
* Help
It is used to display a supplementary help window for the "Print Preview" functions.
Next time, I will talk about the types of setup in the "Page Setup" dialogue box.
