In this issue, I will focus on the details of the "Sheet" tab and the relevant functions.
Setting the 'Sheet' tab
Click the "Sheet" tab once to
display the following "Page Setup" dialogue box (See Figure 1).
The function of each field in the above dialogue box is described below:
Print area
You may specify the area to be printed in this field directly. If there is more than one print area, you may use commas to
separate them. For example, to print cells A2 to C3 and E5 to F6, you can enter "A2:C3, E5:F6".
Print titles
The title described here is different from the Header/Footer mentioned last time. It refers to the row label and the column label of the worksheet. Besides, it consists of the following two options for you to configure:
* Rows to repeat at top
You may specify a row area as the "Rows to repeat at top" here. After that, the "Rows to repeat at top" will be printed on the top of each page before the content of the worksheet. This is suitable for the printing of a very long worksheet. Since the whole content of the worksheet cannot be printed in one page, it may be difficult to understand the content and the meaning of each column when you read the second page if it does not
contain any column labels as reference.
Let's see the following worksheet:
Suppose the worksheet is too long to be printed in one page, you may specify cells A1 to C1 as the "Rows to repeat at top" and the "column labels" shown below will be repeated on the top of each page.
Then the actual content of the worksheet will be printed after the "column labels".
* Columns to repeat at left
You may specify a column area as the "Columns to repeat at left" here. Similarly, the "Columns to repeat at left" will be printed on the left of each page before the content of the
worksheet. This is suitable for the printing of a very wide
worksheet because the row labels are then given on every page printed and you may find it easier to understand the content and the meaning of each row.
We assume that there is another worksheet with the following content:
Again it is too wide to be printed in one page, you may
specify cells A1 to A6 as the "Columns to repeat at left" so that these "row labels" will be printed on the left side of each page.
Similarly, the actual content of the worksheet will then be printed beside the "row labels".
Let's stop here and I will continue with the other fields on the "Sheet" tab in the next issue.
"Sharing IT as it applies to your daily life."
