More effective emergency management in PICS

A brand new function known as "Input Remarks for Emergency Contact Person(s)" allows more efficient and effective emergency management by enabling supervisors to arrange the most appropriate service provider for the staff or their families affected by an emergency.

Simply logon PICS and select the function via the "My PICS" shortcut. Double click the respective Emergency Contact Person record and input the remarks on screen in either Chinese or English. Once saved, only you can change those remarks.

The remarks do not constitute a will and have no legal status. By nature, they are information only.

Here are some ideas of what you may wish to mention.

Example One:

My mother resides in Canada and should only be contacted if my family members in Hong Kong cannot be reached.

Example Two:

Mr Wong is my family doctor. He has my full medical history. I am allergic to Aspirin....

Example Three:

My will is in the custody of my lawyer, Mr Lee. He knows my religious belief and my preference of burial arrangement.

Example Four:

My blood type is A negative. Please contact Ms Cheung who has the same blood type as mine if I ever need a blood transfusion.

As you can see from the foregoing examples, your nominated Emergency Contact Person does not have to be a relative. He or she can be any person whom you may wish your supervisory officers to contact in case of an emergency. To add or delete any person from your list or to update their details, simply amend the respective record on your Officer Report (RREG824) during the Annual Report verification exercise or, at any time, approach your formation GR for assistance.

STEP ONE - Select the function from the "My PICS" menu


STEP TWO - Double click the Emergency Contact Person record for updating


STEP THREE - Click "OK" to acknowledge the content of the Pop Up Message


STEP FOUR - Input Remarks in Chinese or English, approximately 50 words can be input
