Police, community joint efforts nab suspect
The joint efforts between Kwun Tong Division (KT DIV) and a security company have nabbed a suspect of four burglary cases, which happened in offices and factories in Kwun Tong.
Members of KT DIV's anti-burglary team arrested the suspect in the Westley Square shortly after he had stolen a cell phone from an office in the building.
In appreciation of the team's good work, representatives from the estates management company presented a silver plate and a banner to the officers concerned last month.
Investigating burglaries in factory buildings in Kwun Tong earlier in the year, the anti-burglary team distributed copies of the CCTV image of a suspect to security and cleansing companies in various buildings. After being tipped off by a cleansing worker who had spotted the suspect, the team immediately mounted surveillances in buildings, and later found the suspect in the Westley Square.
With the cooperation of security staff, the team arrested the suspect when he re-appeared in the building. A stolen cell phone was found on the suspect, who admitted having committed three burglaries in factory buildings.
