The Police Dragon Boat Club Team recently pulled off the "Disciplinary Forces Championships" of the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races held in Shing Mun River, Sha Tin.

Whilst the honours went to the Blue Team of the Club - result of serious training, high spirits, and excellent teamwork, its Red Team also came in, a fraction of a second later, to scoop up the second runner-up prize, behind the Correctional Services.

Both teams were given a "hero's welcome" by teams from other camps on returning to their tents. The official announcement of the race results was greeted by a thunderous applause.

On the international front, the Blue Team ranked third in Group B of the Open International Plate Championship, whilst the Red Team also qualified for the Grand Final in the same category and finished closely behind the winners.

At the same time, the Club's Mixed Team, making their debut in this major sporting event, qualified for the finals in both the local and international Open Mixed Teams Championships. Though not having won any prize on this occasion, they were very well placed in close finishes.

All these achievements could never have been possible without the support of the Senior Force Management, Police Sports Council and Formation Commanders concerned, to whom the Police Dragon Boat Club is most grateful.
