Eighteen Auxiliary Police officers, comprising one SIP, four SSgts, three Sgts and 10 PCs, have completed the Auxiliary Officer Leadership and Command Course run by Training Section, AUX SUP Bureau. The course is the first one run in the current financial year, after being extended to cater for the needs of auxiliary JPOs with potential officer status. It was originally designed to enhance auxiliary inspectorate officers' professional abilities about operational orders, briefings, manpower deployment, emergency response, communications and command and control. As a result of positive feedbacks, it was extended to cater for JPOs, starting with the course held in March. The course lasted for 20 hours split over three days, covering both theoretical and practical training. The first evening lasted for four hours of lectures on Appreciation and Planning, Operational Order Format and Briefing Skills. After the lectures, the trainees took part in a practical exercise on leadership training at AUX HQ under the supervision of auxiliary staff. On the second and third days, more practical exercises followed classroom sessions, with trainees taking part in leadership training. In addition, a workshop on leadership, team-building and inter-personal skill was also held.
