Joint bid to protect hikers |

With hiking becoming an increasingly popular hobby, Central District has joined hands with the Central & Western District Fight Crime Committee, the Working Group for Crime Prevention and the Lung Fu Shan Country Park Morning Walkers' Association to bring crime prevention messages to hikers. Central District Commander Chau Kwok-leung, together with representatives from the parties concerned, recently distributed publicity leaflets to hikers and tourists at the Peak, calling on them to take care of their personal safety and property. The leaflets also remind them to alert the police if they come across anything suspicious. Meanwhile, Central District has put up at 13 kiosks in Lung Fu Shan Country Park notices concerning the telephone numbers for emergencies, as well as the numbers and grids of the kiosks to help hikers give their positions when making reports.
