New Retirement Preparation Courses

Personnel Services & Staff Relations Branch will organise a new series of Retirement Preparation Courses next year to enable Force members to have an early and well-prepared plan for retirement.

There will be six seminars on different subjects for officers of all ranks free of charge. An officer may attend all the six seminars.

The seminars will normally be held in March, June, September and December each year, and one of them will be conducted in English. Each Seminar will last for about three hours, but attendance will be regarded as a four-hour duty commitment.

If one has already attended six seminars (irrespective of the subjects), he or she can still apply to attend more, but only at their own time.

The date, time and venue of the seminars will be announced on the POINT "NoticeBoard" and Offbeat. If applications exceed quota, priority will be given in accordance with the dates of retirement.

Professional consultants and specialist officers will conduct the seminars, the contents of which are as follows:

Seminar 1:	Keys to an Enriched and Balanced Retirement Life
Seminar 2:	Benefits as a Government Pensioner, Housing Arrangement for Retirement, and Force Welfare and Resettlement Service after Retirement
Seminar 3:	How to Stay Healthy after Retirement and Healthy Lifestyles and Physical Exercise after Retirement
Seminar 4:	Financial Management for Retirement and Introduction to Investment Products
Seminar 5:	Preparing for Second Career
Seminar 6:	How to Start Your Own Business

The coming New Retirement Preparation Course will be held in early March 2005. Those interested should watch out the "NoticeBoard" and OffBeat.
