The "Crime Prevention Poster Design Contest" organised by the Regional Crime Prevention Office of the New Territories North Regional Headquarters for students in the 2004 academic year has attracted over 1,500 entries from schools in the Region.

The prize presentation of the contest was held at the Tuen Mun Town Hall earlier this month. Officiating at the ceremony, Tuen Mun District Commander Jawaid Khan pointed out that the Force attached importance to juvenile delinquency and the poster design contest was just one of a series of crime prevention activities. He stressed that police would tackle juvenile delinquency with both education and law enforcement actions.

Congratulating the winners, Mr Khan encouraged them to study hard and show, in their daily lives, the competitive spirit they had displayed in the contest.

The winning entries were exhibited during the ceremony, and some of them would be used for making crime prevention souvenirs. The ceremony was livened up by the performance of the Police Children's Choir, whose rendition featured an "Anti-shop Theft" song.

Contest has attracted over 1,500 entries
