Training on handling domestic violence
Emergency Unit Kowloon West (EU KW) recently hosted a seminar for over 40 supervisory officers in the Region to raise their awareness of handling domestic violence cases.
At the seminar, Woman Chief Inspector Queenie Wong Siu-hing from Child Protection Policy Unit presented an overview of the ways of handling such cases; Ms April Lam from Social Welfare Department spoke on the social implications of domestic violence and the feasibility of forging closer collaboration between the Force and her department in handling the issue; and Force Clinical Psychologist Dr Edmund Lau explained the psychological aspects of a suspect with violent inclination.
