WSIP Wong Yee-mui of Closed Area Permit Office, BORDIST
An Australian visitor
The visitor pointed out that as a result of WSIP Wong's "zealous assistance", he and his friends had saved considerable amount of time in applying for the required permit. "Inspector Wong's initiative reflects the quality of the vast majority of public servants in Hong Kong. She deserves no less than a commendation," the visitor added.

PC Yeung Kai-fung of STDIST

In a letter to OffBeat, the motorist said PC Yeung has projected a good image for the Force and set a good example in helping members of the public. The motorist said he lost his way while trying to drive to the Chinese University of Hong Kong from Yuen Long. Learning his dilemma in Tai Wai, Sha Tin, PC Yeung, who was on motorcycle patrol, took out a map and explained the routes to the university. Seeing that the motorist still looked puzzled, he volunteered to lead him to the university.

PCs Chan Ka-lun and Kong Chung of MKDIST
A Mainland merchant
The officers attended to the merchant after he was cheated of $6,000 while on a business trip in Hong Kong. Upon his return to the Mainland, he asked the local hotel where he had stayed to send a banner and a "thank you" letter to MKDIST and the officers on his behalf to express appreciation of the "professionalism, care and patience" the officers had shown during their investigations.

A Singapore visitor
The visitor said that after he had lost his wallet, together with cash and credit cards, in Shenzhen, the officers "had gone to great lengths, efforts and patience" to ensure that he returned safely to his hotel in Hong Kong, adding that the officers had displayed "exemplary public service and rendered great help".

Crew of KE EU car, AM 8122

The motorist thanked the EU officers for stopping to help him when he had difficulties in replacing a flat tyre at a gas station at 4pm on January 19. When the job was half way through, the EU car had to leave to attend to an emergency call, leaving the motorist to finish the job by himself. Soon afterwards, the EU car returned to make sure that the motorist had put on a new tyre.
