The Learning Technologies Division (LTD) of Training Wing is co-operating with the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) in pushing the e-Learning initiatives of the Force to a higher level. By leveraging the "Wireless and Mobile Infotainment & Edutainment" platform of the OGCIO, the LTD is able to demonstrate the ideas of "Learning Anytime, Anywhere" and "Learning with Fun".
Over the past few years, mobile phones have evolved into an everyday necessity. Statistics shows that in Hong Kong the number of mobile phones exceeds local population. With such a high penetration rate, mobile phones have gone beyond their usual purpose - communication - to become a platform for information delivery and education. As a result, the LTD has teamed up with the OGCIO to explore the possibility of transforming mobile phones into a learning platform. The result is "Phone Warrior for the HKPF".
