Drug busters 'fight' each other out

While the evening of Saturday, September 3, might have provided drug traffickers with a brief rest bite, the same could not be said for Hong Kong's drug busters as Narcotics Bureau (NB) officers took on their Customs and Excise (C&E) counterparts in their annual soccer match at the DSSRC.

Similar to their fight against the illicit drug trade, both sides spared no effort on the field, resulting in a spectacular game in which seven goals were scored (final score 4-3).

As to which side has won? The answer could be guessed from the comments of NB Acting CSP John Ribeiro right after the match: " I'm preparing to buy the NB players dinner. However, it's immaterial as to who actually has won the game. What is more important is the contribution this type of activity makes to fostering closer co-operation with our C&E counterparts, enhancing internal communication and promoting a healthy lifestyle for our officers. I believe that all this has been achieved today."
