Fraud victims thank CCB
The recovered money was returned to the fraud victims late last month through the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria with the help of CCB. This is the first time the Nigerian Government has returned crime proceeds to Hong Kong victims.
In appreciation of its relentless efforts in resolving the investment fraud, a representative of the victims called at CCB on October 27 and presented CSP CCB Ng Sai-kuen with an appreciation banner.
Two local residents have got back US$4.48 million (about HK$35 million) lost in a Nigerian investment fraud case about five years ago, thanks to the assistance of the Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB).
