The Police Tennis Team walked away with eight medals at the Fok Ying-tung Cup Tennis Tournament for civil servants, which was held over three months last year.

The prize presentation was held recently at the Hong Kong Chinese Civil Servants' Association (HKCCSA).

The Force was by far the biggest winner among the 36 government departments participating in the tournament. Winning medals in all but one of the eight categories, Police players asserted their dominance by taking the Blue Ribbon team and men's singles titles.

To mark the 30th anniversary of the tournament, the organiser invited Commissioner Lee Ming-kwai and the honorary sports advisor of HKCCSA, Mr Timothy Fok Tsan-ting, to square off in a "celebrity challenge" as a prologue to the prize presentation. While both sides cited friendship coming first during the coin toss, it was from the outset they dug deep into their repertoire of shots. Among cheers of the partisan crowd, the Commissioner displayed an array of precision serves and stinging volleys to edge out his very athletic and stylish opponent.
