Crime prevention seminars
With the approach of the Lunar New Year, the Regional Crime Prevention Office (RCPO) and Regional Anti-triad Unit (RATU) of Hong Kong Island, as well as Commercial Crime Bureau recently held a series of five crime prevention seminars for shop owners and hawkers.
The audiences, from various districts in HKI Region, were briefed on how to prevent extortion, quick cash crimes and burglary, identify counterfeit currencies, and use police hotlines to report extortion. The seminars drew a big attendance and favourable response from the audiences.
On top of the seminars, RCPO and RATU also distributed copies of a spring scroll and leaflet carrying fight crime and anti-extortion messages to the stall owners in complexes run by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department.
