After taking a bronze medal at the East Asian Games held in Macao last year, Woman Police Constable Angie Tsang of Sau Mau Ping District proved her prowess again at the 8th World Wushu Championships held in Hanoi last month, taking the gold and silver medals in "Nangun" and "Nandao" respectively, after beating over 20 rivals from Vietnam, Myanmar and Macao. This victory has elevated her to top the World List of Wushu Aces. It was Angie's first victory in an international championship since joining the HKSAR Wushu Team 12 years ago. At the Hanoi championships, Angie lined up with nine other Wushu elites to form the HKSAR team to pit their skills against 260 formidable opponents from 65 countries and places. Angie attributed her latest victory to the support and encouragement of her family, seniors, colleagues and coach. "The gold and silver were a big pleasant surprise because I was beaten by them before!" she told OffBeat. Angie now sets her eyes on the next Asian Games in Doha.
