A bugler from the Police Band sounded the "Last Post" as PC Tsang's coffin, draped with the SAR flag, was lowered into the grave. The hearse was escorted to the Gallant Garden by the Force Escort Group and officers from Yau Tsim and Kowloon City Districts, following a religious ceremony held in the Universal Funeral Parlour in Hung Hom.
The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, went to the funeral parlour to pay his last respects to PC Tsang, as the latter's family held a vigil in the evening before the funeral service. Also paying their last respects to PC Tsang were the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Rafael Hui; Financial Secretary, Mr Henry Tang; Secretary for Justice, Mr Wong Yan-lung, and members of the Executive and Legislative Councils.
On the day of the funeral service, Commissioner Lee Ming-kwai, leading Senior Directorate Group Officers, Assistant Commissioners, and representatives from Major Formations, Regions, Districts, and Force staff associations, paid his last tribute to PC Tsang.
Other official mourners included the Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee; Secretary for the Civil Service, Ms Denise Yue; Secretary for Constitutional Affairs, Mr Stephen Lam; President of the Legislative Council, Mrs Rita Fan; members of the Executive and Legislative Councils, and heads of government Bureaux and departments, as well as heads and representatives of other disciplined services.
Scores of wreaths were laid in the funeral parlour, including those from the Chief Executive, senior government officials and community leaders.
